Pune NGO Organizes Mental Health Awareness Walk on October 8 - Pune pulse
In celebration of the World Mental Health Day, which is observed on 10th October every year, a Pune NGO ‘Connecting Trust’ organized a walk for Mental Health Awareness on Sunday (8th October).
As per further information from Connecting Trust, World Mental Health Day 2023 is an opportunity for people and communities to unite behind the theme “Mental Health Is a Universal Human Right” to improve knowledge, raise awareness and drive actions that promote and protect everyone’s mental health, a human right.
The rally was flagged off at the hands of Arnavaz Damania – Founder and Trustee, Connecting Trust, Sandy Dias – Co-Managing Trustee, Connecting Trust, Sukhada Khisti – CEO, Connecting Trust.
Several participants walked together comprising individual entries, schools, colleges, corporate companies, NGOs and so on. Contribution of more than 30 Connecting Trust volunteers was there.
Connecting Trust is a Pune based NGO founded in 2005 by a group of concerned and socially sensitive citizens, led by Arnavaz Damania to address growing emotional distress, to prevent suicides and to provide emotional support to those who have lost someone to suicide.
Dedicated to Suicide Prevention and de-stigmatizing Suicide, the team of trained volunteers has been supporting thousands of persons in emotions distress for the past 18 years through our various programs that include a free Helpline, Email support, Suicide Survivor Support and the adolescent’s PEER education program.
