Pune, September 28, 2025: In a significant step towards clean and sustainable energy, Nyati Chesterfield in Undri inaugurated a 32.4 kW rooftop solar plant on Sunday. The initiative marks a major milestone for residential societies in the area adopting solar energy under the government’s PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
The inauguration event, held at 10:30 am, brought together residents, energy experts. Following the formal launch, an interactive session was organised to educate society members about the financial and environmental benefits of solar power, along with practical insights on how rooftop installations can reduce electricity bills and dependence on conventional energy sources.
Nyati Chesterfield’s management committee highlighted that this solar project would not only help residents cut down on power expenses but also contribute towards reducing the society’s carbon footprint. With a 32.4 kW capacity, the plant is expected to generate substantial savings on annual electricity consumption, while ensuring a cleaner energy footprint for the community.
Representatives from the company shared that the project is part of a growing wave of solar adoption across housing societies in Pune. They emphasised that government-backed schemes like the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana are encouraging residential communities to make the shift towards renewable energy by offering subsidies and simplified processes.
Residents at the event expressed optimism, stating that such projects pave the way for a greener future and set an example for other housing complexes in the region.
