Pune, July 14, 2025: After years of relentless monsoon flooding, residents of Thite Wasti in Kharadi finally have reason to breathe easy. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the PMC Warriors and Pune Municipal Corporation’s Drainage Department, the chronic waterlogging issue inside homes has been resolved.
For decades, the locality grappled with rainwater inundating homes during heavy downpours, posing health risks and disrupting daily life. The breakthrough came when residents sought help from Jayesh Maduskar, Chairman of Nyati Elysia Cronus and a core member of PMC Warriors, along with civic activist Ram Sanap.

“We rushed to the site with PMC’s Drainage Department, led by Chief Engineer Jagdish Khanore, supported by officers Hemant Desai and Vinayak Shinde. Together with Tithe Wasti representatives, we assessed the situation and worked on immediate solutions,” Maduskar said.
The team identified critical drainage blockages and implemented measures to divert floodwaters, bringing much-needed relief to the locality. Work is now underway on constructing a culvert in the area and developing the adjoining DP Road in front of Nyati Elysia, ensuring a long-term solution.
“This collaborative effort is a shining example of how citizen groups and civic authorities can work together to address urban challenges,” Sanap added.
The PMC Warriors team—including Sagar Chaudhari, Ganesh Satras, Akshay Bachhal, Shankar Sharma, Brig. Pramod Singh (Retd), Satish R., Akhilesh Gautam, and Tushar Goel—have been instrumental in tackling civic issues across Pune through such partnerships.
Residents of Tithe Wasti expressed gratitude for the swift intervention, calling it a “turning point” for their community.

Maduskar also acknowledged PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram for his leadership and support in driving citizen-led initiatives.
In line with its mission to transform Pune, PMC Warriors and the Sanitation SWM Department are now preparing a large-scale cleaning drive under the “Mazha Pune, Swachh Pune” initiative to further enhance hygiene and aesthetics across the city.
This success marks another milestone in urban problem-solving, highlighting the impact of sustained activism and responsive governance.
