Pune: Nyay Aplya Dari Initiative Settles ₹1.54 Crore In Cases Through Mobile Courts
Pune, August 7, 2025: Under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge Mahendra K. Mahajan and the leadership of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary Sonal Patil, the innovative initiative ‘Nyay Aplya Dari’ (Justice at Your Doorstep) has successfully resolved financial disputes worth ₹1.54 crore through mobile Lok Adalats across Pune district.
In the first phase of the initiative, held from June 12, mobile vans were deployed in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and surrounding talukas to bring justice to the doorsteps of underprivileged and marginalised citizens. A total of 130 civil and criminal cases were resolved, along with 36 pre-litigation matters, ensuring fast and accessible justice.

Judge Mahajan highlighted that the essence of the judiciary lies in inclusivity and sensitivity, and mobile Lok Adalats embody the very spirit of democracy by delivering justice at people’s doorsteps. Secretary Sonal Patil noted that this initiative is more than a legal service—it is a bridge of trust between the judiciary and the citizens. The program is designed to make the legal process more understandable, accessible, and transparent, especially for those in rural and remote areas who lack financial resources or legal awareness.
Legal volunteers and retired judges conducted door-to-door outreach and legal awareness drives, ensuring that justice reached even the most disadvantaged segments of society.
The campaign continues to be a beacon of hope for many and is committed to upholding the right to justice for every citizen in the future as well.
