Pune: Over 600 suggestions received under PCMC’s ‘Participatory Budgeting’ Initiative, Last Date To Send Feedback Is September 15
Pimpri, September 8, 2025: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) initiative to ensure direct citizen participation in the upcoming 2026–27 city budget is receiving a positive response with over 600 suggestions already received. From college students to senior citizens, people from all age groups are actively submitting their suggestions. The corporation has appealed to more and more citizens across Pimpri Chinchwad to take advantage of this opportunity and register their inputs.
The Participatory Budgeting initiative for PCMC’s upcoming 2026–27 budget was launched on August 15, 2025, by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh. Since its launch, several citizens have come forward with ideas for new projects and development works.
Citizens will continue to have the opportunity to submit their feedback until September 15. All valid suggestions received will be compiled and positively incorporated into the budget planning process.
With the city’s rapid growth, the need to address local requirements more effectively has become crucial. Suggestions from citizens in areas such as roads, footpaths, gardens, street lighting, water supply, healthcare facilities, waste management, traffic systems, and green initiatives are directly considered in the city’s budget.
This initiative allows every citizen to play an active role in shaping Pimpri Chinchwad’s development. The budget will allocate funds for various projects based on citizens’ ideas, expectations, and priorities. Therefore, the corporation urges residents to participate in large numbers this year and contribute directly to the progress of their neighbourhoods.

“The participatory budget ensures that citizens directly shape the development priorities of their own neighbourhoods. I appeal to every citizen to take part in this process and ensure that their suggestions are reflected in the city’s growth story.”
