Pune: Parge Nagar Residents In Kondhwa Demand Improvements in Traffic, Parking, And Road Safety

The residents of Parge Nagar in Kondhwa, Pune, shared their views to Pune Pulse to bring to the attention several critical issues impacting our community’s environment, traffic regulation, parking, and overall road safety. The stretch from Raviraj Astra to Alcon Royce in Parge Nagar has become increasingly chaotic, with a blatant disregard for road safety rules.

Youngsters frequently flout traffic regulations, and vehicles are parked haphazardly, creating significant inconvenience and posing dangers to the community. The deteriorating road surface further exacerbates these problems, making it hazardous for all drivers, especially women.

Key issues needing urgent attention include:

1. Lack of Proper Speed Breakers and Dividers: The absence of speed breakers and dividers has led to numerous accidents along this stretch. Installing proper speed breakers and dividers is crucial for the safety of pedestrians and drivers.
2. Improper Parking: Vehicles are parked randomly, obstructing traffic flow and increasing the risk of accidents. A designated parking system is urgently needed.
3. Poor Road Surface: The deplorable road condition makes it dangerous to drive, particularly for women and elderly citizens.
4. Cleanliness Issues: The new road connecting Kausar Baug and Parge Nagar suffers from indiscriminate vehicle parking and garbage dumping, resulting in unhygienic conditions.

This area houses 13 large societies, 3 schools, 2 mosques, and 1 hospital. Despite being responsible citizens and taxpayers, we are deprived of basic necessities and a safe environment.

Sameer Punjabi, a resident of Parge Nagar area complained, “We, the residents of Parge Nagar, earnestly request all concerned authorities to address these issues promptly. We believe that with your esteemed intervention, these problems can be resolved, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all residents.”
