Pune, September 15, 2025: Maharashtra Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Pratap Sarnaik visited the Lonavala bus stand today to review the premises and interact with passengers.

He was accompanied by MSRTC officials, including Planning and Marketing General Manager Jayesh Bamane, Regional Manager Amruta Tamhankar, and Divisional Controller Arun Siya.

During his inspection, Sarnaik visited the restrooms and the canteen. He directed officials not to carry out cleanliness drives only when a minister is visiting but to maintain the bus stand in a neat and hygienic condition daily. He emphasized that passengers must have access to clean waiting areas, sanitized restrooms, and affordable, good-quality food at canteens on a regular basis.

While interacting with passengers in the waiting hall, some travelers complained that scheduled buses were not arriving at Lonavala bus stand on time, forcing them to wait for long durations. Taking note of this issue, Sarnaik instructed the Pune Regional Manager to ensure that all buses adhere to the timetable and directed the depot manager to take necessary corrective measures immediately.

The minister underlined that the focus should remain on improving passenger convenience and maintaining consistent service quality rather than temporary measures during inspections.
