Pune: PCMC Begins Footpath Beautification Work From Kalewadi Chowk To Ambience Hotel Road
Pune, October 9, 2025: A civic beautification project has commenced on the Kalewadi to Ambience Hotel road in Wakad. The PCMCÂ has initiated work to install kerbstones around the trees planted on the footpaths along this stretch.Â
The project aims to protect the saplings and give a more organized and aesthetic look to the footpaths on both sides of the road. The installation of kerbing stones is a common practice to prevent soil erosion around the tree base and to define the planting area clearly.
Once completed, the initiative is expected to enhance the green cover and visual appeal of the area while contributing to the city’s overall infrastructure development. The work is currently ongoing, and commuters are advised to exercise caution while passing through the section.
“It is a positive step that the municipal corporation has taken the initiative to install kerb stones around the plants. We hope this upkeep will be consistently maintained by the authorities in the long run.” Richa Dixit, resident from Nisarg Green Society.Â
