Pune: PCMC Steps Up CCTV Surveillance In Municipal Schools For Better Security
Pimpri, March 6, 2025 – The Standing Committee meeting of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) was held at the Late Mayor Madhukar Pawale Hall in the main administrative building. The meeting was chaired by Administrator Shekhar Singh, with Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Vijaykumar Khorate, Chandrakant Indalkar, and other department heads in attendance.
During the meeting, approval was granted for several initiatives, including the organization of the Ranrai Festival and the 28th Annual Flowers, Fruits, and Vegetable Garden Competition. Additionally, a sewage treatment plant will be constructed at the Animal Husbandry Department site in Tathawade.
A significant decision was the approval for upgrading and expanding the CCTV surveillance system in municipal secondary schools. This includes the renewal of existing systems and installation of additional cameras where required. Furthermore, Singh approved the renewal of the project agreement between PCMC and Lighthouse Communities Foundation.
Other approved projects include improvements in drainage systems, road maintenance, pothole repairs, stormwater management, bus stop railing repairs, and park upkeep across the city. The administrator also sanctioned electrical work and the installation of large-diameter drainage lines in necessary locations.
