Pune: PCMC's Nehru Nagar Animal Crematorium Closed Until August 11
Pimpri, August 9, 2025 – The small animal crematorium located within the premises of the Nehrunagar Veterinary Hospital, operated by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), will remain closed from August 9 to 11 for essential electrical maintenance and repairs.
According to the PCMC’s electrical department, the shutdown is necessary to carry out technical work aimed at ensuring electrical safety and restoring the crematorium’s operational efficiency. Repairs will also include work on the crematorium’s main door.
Once the electrical work is completed by August 11, the facility will resume full operations. Authorities have appealed to citizens to cooperate during this temporary closure. The PCMC emphasised that such maintenance activities are crucial to ensure the safety and smooth functioning of the crematorium’s services for the community.
