Pune: PMC Demolishes 25,630 Sq. Ft. Of Unauthorized Structures In Baner
Pune, December 6, 2024: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a demolition drive on unauthorized constructions along the Pan Card Club Road in Baner. The targeted structures included sheds and buildings in front-margin areas near Murkute Udyan Chowk, Hotel Corner Lounge, Indian Culture Hotel, Hotel Signature, and West Rose Society.
Under the supervision of the Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer of PMC’s Building Development Department, Zone 3, the operation was executed with assistance from police personnel. A team comprising assistant engineers, junior engineers, and support staff used a JCB machine, a gas cutter, and ten encroachment personnel to remove illegal structures spanning approximately 25,630 square feet.
The PMC emphasized that the drive was conducted to ensure adherence to zoning regulations and to reclaim public spaces. Such actions demonstrate the civic body’s commitment to curbing unauthorized construction in the city.
The operation was carried out smoothly and efficiently with the cooperation of all departments involved. Authorities have warned against illegal developments and have encouraged residents to seek necessary permissions for construction.
