Pune: PMC Extends Property Tax Discount Deadline To July 7 Amid Server Issues and Public Demand

Pune: Despite State Ban, PMC Collects ₹232 Crore From Merged Villages
Pune, June 30, 2025:
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has extended the deadline for discounted property tax payments until July 7, following technical glitches and overcrowding on the original due date of June 30, which hindered thousands of residents from completing payments.
Responding to public complaints and system-related challenges, the PMC’s Tax Assessment and Collection Department has allowed taxpayers to continue availing 5% to 10% discounts on property tax payments until the revised date.
As per official data, over 7.1 lakh property holders collectively paid approximately ₹1,244.5 crore in taxes between May 1 and June 30. The early payment rebate was introduced to encourage timely tax compliance.
To assist citizens, all Citizen Facilitation Centers will remain operational from 10 AM to 4 PM, and the PMC has advised residents to avoid last-minute rushes by using both offline centers and the online payment portal.
Deputy Commissioner of the Tax Department, Avinash Sakpal, urged taxpayers to make the most of the extended period and discounted rates.
Meanwhile, the civic body has set an ambitious revenue target of ₹3,250 crore for the current fiscal year.
