Pune: PMC Launches Crackdown On Illegal Posters In NIBM Annexe And Mohamadwadi
Pune, September 11, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Hadapsar Ramtekdi Ward office has initiated a special drive to remove illegal flex boards and posters that were defacing public properties across the city. For months, residents had been raising concerns over the unchecked spread of posters on electric poles, road dividers, and other public spaces.
The clean-up operation, conducted by the Sky Sign Department of PMC, covered key stretches including NIBM Road, Raheja Circle, Mohamadwadi, and Solapur Road. During the drive, multiple unauthorized banners and advertisements were pulled down, restoring a cleaner look to the city’s public areas.
Officials stated that such illegal flexes not only spoil the city’s aesthetic appeal but also create visual pollution and safety hazards. The PMC has warned that strict action will be taken against those found putting up unauthorized posters in the future.
Residents have welcomed the move, expressing relief that their complaints have finally been addressed. However, they also urged the civic body to conduct such drives regularly to ensure that public spaces remain free from defacement and unauthorized advertisements.
