Pune: PMC Unveils ‘Road Mitra’ App to Speed Up Pothole Repairs
Pune, August 13, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has introduced a new digital initiative, the PMR Road Mitra App, enabling citizens to report potholes directly through their smartphones. Available on the Google Play Store, the app aims to ensure quicker road repairs and improved accountability.
Launched on Tuesday by Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, the app allows users to upload photos and videos of potholes from their exact location. This information is automatically shared with the concerned officer, who is required to address the issue within 72 hours. Failure to act within this timeframe will lead to action against the responsible official.
The PMC road department developed the app to provide real-time updates to the junior engineer of the area. After repairs are completed, PMC staff will upload ‘after’ photos, allowing citizens to verify the work.
Officials will also use the app to monitor complaint patterns, identify areas with the highest number of pothole reports, and track compliance. Citizens can check the status of their complaints online, ensuring transparency in the repair process.
