Pune, July 21, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued an advisory alerting citizens about fraudulent messages claiming imminent water disconnection due to unpaid bills.

According to PMC, from August 14, 2024, several residents have reported receiving fake SMS notifications threatening to cut off their water supply unless they clear outstanding dues. The civic body clarified that these messages are not issued by the Water Supply Department.

Residents are urged not to share their mobile numbers or personal information online in response to such messages or suspicious links.
