In a move to improve public transportation in Pimpri Chinchwad and PMRDA areas, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) is set to establish three new bus depots. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has handed over three land parcels, spanning 5.5 acres, to PMPML for this purpose.

Located in Bhosari, Ravet, and Moshi, the new depots will alleviate the burden on existing depots in Bhosari and Nigdi. This expansion will enable PMPML to increase its fleet and enhance connectivity to areas along the Pune-Mumbai and Pune-Nashik highways.

A senior PMPML official stated that the existing depots were struggling to cope with the growing passenger and trip demand. The new depots will allow us to increase our bus services, improving connectivity to areas such as Rajgurunagar on the Pune-Nashik highway and Lonavala on the Pune-Mumbai highway.

The acquisition of the land parcels was a long-standing demand of PMPML, and the process was expedited over the past three years. With the new depots, PMPML aims to provide better public transportation services to residents of Pimpri Chinchwad and PMRDA areas.
