The 5,600 sqm PMRDA-designated amenity space in Bavdhan Budruk, meant for public welfare, has turned into a den for drug use and open alcohol consumption, raising serious concerns among residents. Despite repeated complaints, the issue remains unresolved. The area lies close to schools and dense residential neighborhoods, amplifying the risk to community safety.

The space, originally intended for use by senior citizens, children, and families, has been neglected, leading to rampant misuse. Unused public spaces often attract anti-social activities, and this site is a clear example of that.

Advocate Krunnal Gharre stated, “Since no action has been taken by the authorities, I’ve taken it upon myself to clear this space at my own expense, to reclaim it for the community.”

He further added, “The community should be allowed to take responsibility for such spaces. If the authorities cannot manage it, the people will. Allowing residents to actively use the space will keep it safe and prevent encroachment.”

Immediate action is needed from the authorities to restore this space for safe and meaningful community use.
