Pune: PMRDA Clears 28 Illegal Structures In Maan-Hinjawadi
Pimpri, July 17, 2025: In a bid to ease traffic congestion in Hinjawadi and surrounding areas, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has intensified its crackdown on illegal constructions. On Wednesday, eviction action was carried out against encroachments in the Hinjawadi region, and a survey of unauthorized structures is underway. Strict action will be taken against violators.
To resolve traffic bottlenecks in Hinjawadi, Maan, and Marunji, PMRDA along with other government agencies has launched a joint operation. On Wednesday, encroachments around natural streams and drains in Gat No. 166 of Maan village were cleared, involving the demolition of 28 unauthorized structures. Encroachments at Mauli Hotel near Wipro Circle were also removed during the drive.
The operation was conducted in coordination with PMRDA, MIDC, and other governmental bodies. The authorities are currently surveying encroachment holders and will be issuing notices shortly. PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase and Superintendent of Police and Vigilance Officer Amol Zende have appealed to encroachers to voluntarily remove illegal structures and cooperate with the administration. They have also urged citizens to obtain prior permission from PMRDA before undertaking any construction activities.
