Pune: PMRDA Extends Deadline For Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line-3 To September 2025
Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has extended the deadline for the completion of the Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line-3 until September 2025, following a request from the project contractors Tata and Siemens. The project was initially scheduled for completion by March 2025.
During a recent meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the state government approved the transfer of Raj Bhavan land for the construction of a Metro station. Additionally, land acquisition for a station at Modern College has commenced, and discussions are underway with PMC to develop parking and other amenities near Metro stations.
Officials confirmed that the project has reached 82% completion, with duct installation and railway track laying finished. Work on escalators, traffic signals, and electrical systems across 23 stations is in its final stages.
The Metro Line-3 project, spanning 23 km, is being executed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) by Tata Group’s TRIL Urban Transport Private Limited (TUTPL) and Siemens Project Ventures. Construction began in November 2021, with the first Metro pillar erected in April 2022.
