Pune: PMRDA Halts Construction Work Of Amco Developers, Krishna Developers, And Belvalkar Housing In Wagholi
Pimpri, October 9, 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has ordered a halt to construction at certain residential projects in Wagholi after developers failed to provide the promised civic amenities to residents. The directive was issued by PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase following complaints from local homeowners.
During project approvals, developers assure the authorities that they will provide all necessary civic facilities for residents. However, some developers have neglected these obligations, causing significant inconvenience to homeowners. Complaints from residents of residential projects in Wagholi, specifically Group No. 1185 A and B, prompted a site inspection by PMRDA officials.
Three weeks ago, the Metropolitan Commissioner held a joint meeting with residents and developer representatives, instructing them to fulfill the required civic amenities. Despite these directions, some developers failed to comply, leading to a suspension of construction for Amco Developers, Krishna Developers, and Belvalkar Housing. The primary concern was the absence of underground drains along project roads, which caused sewage accumulation and other civic issues. Some developers had even exploited society-owned areas to obtain construction permits without providing proper facilities.
Further Construction Contingent on Resolution of Issues
The PMRDA has clarified that developers who fail to provide essential civic facilities will not receive further construction approvals. Only after resolving the complaints and obtaining clearances from Pune Municipal Corporation regarding drinking water and sewage arrangements will the developers be granted revised construction permits and occupancy certificates.
Dr. Mhase emphasized that civic problems must be fully addressed before any continuation of construction, ensuring that residents receive the facilities promised during project approvals.
