Hinjawadi, June 20, 2025: Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority Commissioner, Dr. Yogesh Mhase, has instructed officials to file direct criminal cases against those carrying out construction work in violation of norms within PMRDA, MIDC, and other jurisdictions. Dr. Mhase pointed out that the natural flow of streams and drains has been disrupted, leading to severe waterlogging in Hinjewadi Phases 1, 2, 3, and along the Metro route, causing trouble for both residents and motorists.

In the presence of MP Shrirang Barne and MLA Shankar Mandekar, Dr. Mhase held a joint meeting with officers from various administrative agencies and directed the immediate completion of pending works.

Over the past week, efforts have been underway to improve civic infrastructure like stormwater drainage, road repairs, and cleaning in the affected areas. This includes road repairs near Hinjewadi IT Park, removal of debris along Metro routes, cleaning of drains, pothole filling, and removal of unauthorized stalls. These steps have eased several problems, although continuous rainfall is causing delays in some works. Both the Commissioner and the public representatives instructed that the remaining works be completed urgently.
