Pune Police Arrest Three In Drug Bust, Seizing Narcotics Worth ₹12.74 Lakhs
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Pune City Police have arrested three individuals and confiscated narcotics valued at ₹12,74,200. The operation was carried out under the direction of Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar and involved multiple police units.
On the evening of October 29, a team led by Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad and Assistant Police Inspector Nitin Kumar Naik was on patrol near Pune Railway Station when they received a tip-off. Acting on the information, officers apprehended the suspects—identified as Manas Kumar, Lalmohan Francis Bir, and Shrikant Abhimanyu Bir—in Agarkar Nagar.
Authorities recovered 61 kilograms and 60 grams of ganja, along with various items related to drug use. A case has been filed against the accused at the Bund Garden Police Station, with charges brought under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(c), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
