Pune Police Bust Interstate Gang For Cable Wire Theft, Four Held

Pune, September 23, 2025 – Chaturshringi police arrested four individuals, including three from New Delhi and one local resident, for their involvement in multiple cable wire thefts across Pune. Authorities recovered tools and equipment worth ₹29.35 lakh during the operation.

The investigation began after a complaint reported the theft of a 200-metre-long cable from a telecom company’s underground chamber on the night of September 17-18. Using technical analysis, police traced the suspects to Sangamwadi and apprehended them.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Nasrul Bilal Mohammad (23), Sanjeev Kumar Shreesevaram Warma (37), and Waris Faquir Mohamad (35) from New Delhi, along with Faiem Sharif Ahmed Sheikh (42) from Lohegaon.

Senior Inspector Uttam Bhanjawale of Chaturshringi Police Station stated, “The three suspects traveled from Delhi to Pune to carry out these thefts. We are investigating further as more individuals may be involved in the gang.”

Police have seized all stolen tools and paraphernalia and are continuing investigations to uncover the full network behind these thefts.
