Pune Police Commissioner Honors Brave Officer Assaulted While Protecting Senior Citizen
Pune, January 14, 2025: Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar visited the residence of Traffic Police Constable Raju Shivaji Pawar, who was assaulted while performing his duty in Hadapsar. The incident occurred on January 11, when Constable Pawar intervened to stop a man from assaulting a senior citizen. Enraged by the officer’s actions, the man attacked Pawar.
The accused was swiftly apprehended by the police. Commissioner Kumar praised Pawar for his quick thinking and bravery in handling the situation. During his visit, Kumar emphasized that both police and citizens are integral parts of society, urging everyone to remain vigilant for the city’s safety.
He also issued a stern warning against those who assault officers performing their duties, assuring that strict action will be taken in such cases. The commissioner honored Pawar for his courage and urged citizens to support law enforcement in maintaining peace and order.
The Pune City Police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting both officers and the public.
