Pune: In a significant move to raise awareness about traffic rules and regulations, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar announced the establishment of a new training institute aimed at educating police officers entering the traffic department, as well as school and college students. The institute will provide detailed training on traffic issues, challenges, and the consequences of breaking traffic rules.

The announcement was made on Saturday during an event organized in collaboration with the Pune Police Traffic Branch, Pune Platform for Collaborative Response (PPCAR), Top Management Consortium Foundation (TMCF), and Jahangir Hospital. The initiative, called the ‘Pune Traffic Mitigation Internship Program,’ aims to offer valuable insights into traffic regulation. Students who participated in the program received certificates from Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar.

The program is designed to educate students about traffic issues, rule violations, and the resulting penalties. Additionally, it will provide guidance on how to assist accident victims and the use of technical tools like CCTV in traffic management.
