Pune: Police Officer Assaulted In Sadashiv Peth While Patrolling; Case Registered Against One
Pune: A police officer was allegedly manhandled while trying to disperse a group causing a disturbance in Sadashiv Peth. The incident occurred around midnight near Bhave High School when constable Krishna Sawant and his colleague were on patrol.
According to the police, they received information about a group creating a nuisance in the area. Upon reaching the spot, they instructed the individuals to leave. However, one of the youths in the group verbally abused and pushed constable Sawant before fleeing the scene.
A case has been registered against the accused for obstructing a public servant in duty and assault. The police are currently searching for the suspect, and the investigation is being led by Sub-Inspector Ganesh Fartade.
