In the ongoing rave party case involving Pranjal Khewalkar—son-in-law of senior leader Eknath Khadse—advocate Asim Sarode has made serious allegations against the Pune Police. He claimed that the police planted evidence like cocaine and created a false narrative by recording and leaking a video, violating Khewalkar’s right to privacy.

Sarode argued that this act could land the Pune Police in legal trouble and may lead the case to the High Court. According to him, the police misrepresented a private gathering as a “rave party” to frame the attendees, including Khewalkar and six others who were arrested and remanded to two-day police custody.

Sarode further added that drinking alcohol at home is not a crime, and what the Pune Police presented was far from the characteristics of an actual rave party—which typically includes loud music, large crowds, provocative attire, and drugs like opium or marijuana.

He alleged that police fabricated a scene similar to a Bollywood film and deliberately planted 2 grams of cocaine while falsely documenting 7 milligrams to block the possibility of bail. Before the matter even reached court, they leaked a video to the public, he claimed.

Sarode concluded that the Pune Police have overstepped, and their actions are likely to backfire.
