In a heartening display of efficiency and community policing, the Samarth Police Station in Pune reunited a Keralite youth with his lost bag containing valuables and important documents within hours. Riyaz Ahmed KP, 48, from Kozhikode, Kerala, had arrived at Pune Railway Station on Sunday morning to meet his friend Umar Karim Farooq.
After getting down from a rickshaw in Rasta Peth, Riyaz realized he had left his bag behind. The bag contained clothes, valuables, and crucial documents. Panicked, Riyaz rushed to the Samarth police station to file a complaint. Police Inspector Ghorpade and Constable Imran Shaikh sprang into action, determined to recover the lost bag.
The police team scanned 6-7 CCTV footages to identify the rickshaw and tracked down the vehicle’s number. They then contacted the rickshaw puller, Arun Pawar, 50, who promptly returned the forgotten bag. Riyaz was overjoyed to recover his belongings in good condition.
Riyaz thanked the Pune Police for their swift action, praising their dedication to serving the community. “I’m grateful to the Pune Police for recovering my bag so quickly,” he said. The incident showcases the effectiveness of community policing and the importance of collaborative efforts between citizens and law enforcement agencies.
