Pune: Praful Lodha Arrested in Honey Trap and Sexual Assault Case, 36-Year-Old Woman Files Serious Allegations
Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Bavdhan Police have arrested Praful Lodha in connection with a honey trap and sexual assault case following a complaint filed by a 36-year-old woman. The accused was taken into custody from Arthur Road Jail after a transfer warrant was approved by the court. Lodha is expected to be produced before the court shortly.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on May 27, 2025, at a renowned hotel in Balewadi, Pune, where Lodha allegedly lured the victim by promising her husband a job and then assaulted her. The woman lodged an FIR at Bavdhan Police Station on July 17, 2025.
Lodha is also accused in similar cases registered at Andheri MIDC and Sakinaka Police Stations in Mumbai, involving honey trap incidents and the exploitation of a 16-year-old minor girl.
Once considered close to a senior political leader in Jalgaon, Lodha later joined the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi party and briefly contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections before withdrawing his candidature. He is known as a self-styled social worker but has multiple criminal cases registered against him.
