Pune Railway Division Cracks Down On Ticketless Travel, Collects ₹2.35 Crore In September Fines
Pune, October 12, 2025: Pune Division, Central Railway, continued its sustained efforts to curb ticketless and irregular travel by conducting intensive ticket checking drives across various sections during September 2025.
These drives were conducted under the guidance of Rajesh Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Pune, and Padmasinha Uttam Jadhav, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), Pune, and under the supervision of Anil Kumar Pathak, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SrDCM), Pune, Hemant Kumar Behera, Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Pune, and Kapil Sharma, Assistant Commercial Manager (ACM), Pune.
Summary of Action Taken in September 2025:
Passengers without tickets: 29,739 detected
Fines collected: ₹1,86,79,725
Irregular travel in reserved coaches: 8,425 detected
Fines collected: ₹48,08,805
Passengers with unbooked luggage: 472 detected
Fines collected: ₹74,785
Total Passengers Penalized: 38,636
Total Fines Collected: ₹2,35,63,315
Cumulative Performance (April to September 2025 – FY 2025-26):
Total passengers penalized: 2,27,895
Total fines collected: ₹12,76,30,421
The dedicated efforts of ticket checking staff, flying squads, and on-board ticket checking teams across the division have significantly contributed to maintaining discipline and ensuring fair travel practices among passengers.
