Pune, 25th July 2024: The Khadakwasla Dam authorities have significantly increased the water discharge rate into the Mutha River basin. As of 6:00 AM today, the discharge rate has been elevated from 27,203 cusecs to 35,574 cusecs.

Executive Engineer of the Khadakwasla Irrigation Department, stated that this rate might fluctuate based on future rainfall. Adjustments will be made as necessary to maintain optimal water levels.

Residents are advised to avoid the following areas due to heightened water discharge for safety reasons:

Balwadkar
  • Sangam Bridge Settlement
  • Jayantrao Tilak Bridge
  • Holkar Bridge
  • Bhide Bridge
  • Garware College Khillare Vasti College Campus
  • Shitala Devi Temple, Deccan

Pune Dams Water Storage Status (6:00 AM, 25th July 2024)

  • Khadakwasla: 118 mm rainfall, total 450 mm, storage 1.97 TMC (100%), inflow +62 cusecs, water level 582.47 meters. Total water released over spillway: 1.03 TMC.
  • Panshet: 183 mm rainfall, total 1171 mm, storage 8.13 TMC (76.31%), inflow +872 cusecs, water level 631.14 meters.
  • Warasgaon: 186 mm rainfall, total 1174 mm, storage 8.04 TMC (62.74%), inflow +1198 cusecs, water level 631.20 meters.
  • Temghar: 210 mm rainfall, total 1914 mm, storage 2.12 TMC (57.27%), inflow +321 cusecs, water level 695.80 meters.

Total inflow for all four dams: 2453 mcft
Current total water storage for all four dams: 20.27 TMC (69.53%)
Last year’s total storage: 17.84 TMC (61.20%)
