Pune Rains: Heavy Downpour Leads To Submerged Bridges, Residents Trapped, Rescue Ops Begin
Rainwater has entered numerous housing societies in Pune Metropolitan Municipality areas such as Ekta Nagari on Sinhagad Road, Dwarka Society, Sharada Sarovar Society, Shyam Sundar Society in Nimjane area, Sinhagad Road, Gharkul Society in Pimpri Chinchwad, Vrindavan Ashram in Akurdi, Vishalnagar, Jagtap Dairy Venus Society, and Kundannagar. Rescue and relief operations are ongoing.
PMC, Pune Fire Brigade, PCMC, PMRDA, NDRF, Army have all been called to hold rescue operations in the affected areas.
Following are the bridges which are submerged in the water :

2. Mula River Bridge
3. Sangam Road Bridge
4. Holkar Bridge
5. Sangamwadi Bridge
6. Maharshi Shinde Bridge
7. Hadapsar-Mundhwa Road Bridge
8. Matang Bridge
9. Yerwada Shantinagar Bridge
10. Nimjane Bridge
11. Indrayani Bridge (on Moi and Chikli roads)
Three youths named Abhishek Ghanekar, Akash Mane, and Shiva Parihar died due to electric shock near the Bhide Bridge in Pulachiwadi.
A landslide occurred on Lavasa Road in Mulshi Taluka, and the NDRF team has been informed for rescue operations.
The District Disaster Management Cell, Pune updated about the crisis situations that were reported across Pune city and district.
Due to water entering societies in the Nimjane area and on Sinhagad Road, people are trapped in their homes and arrangements for food and water are being made.
A landslide has blocked the Bhimashankar-Khed Road, preventing access from Khed to Bhimashankar.
In Wadghar, Velha Taluka, soil from the hill has blocked the road, but it has been cleared for traffic.
In Mouje-Dasave, Mulshi Taluka, a landslide occurred at a bungalow in Lavasa Lake City, trapping three people. Initial information suggests that the NDRF team is working on the rescue.
Additionally, a 24-48hour ban has been issued at tourist spots.
Dr Suhas Diwase, Pune district collector in a press conference today afternoon held a press conference addressing various points on the rescue operations being held in Pune city. To curb any further incidents, the district collectorate has called in help from PMC, PMC Fire Brigade, PCMC, PMRDA, NDRF and Army.
These rescue teams will be deployed in the below areas:
One Army column consisting of 60 to 70 people equipped with 4 boats is deployed in Ekta Nagar. Two NDRF teams are already at Ekta Nagar area in Sinhagad road.

PCMC fire brigade is deployed near Harris Bridge
One team of PMC Fire Brigade Is Deployed At Dandekar Bridge
PMRDA fire team one team will be deployed at Vishrantwadi
