Pune continues to assert its position as a competitive employment hub in India, particularly in the IT and blue-collar sectors. According to a recent report, Pune ranks fourth in base annual salaries for software engineers, with an average of ₹6.6 lakh, ahead of Mumbai (₹6.2 lakh) and Chennai (₹6 lakh). However, it lags behind Bengaluru (₹8.8 lakh), Hyderabad (₹7.8 lakh), and New Delhi (₹7.7 lakh).

In the blue-collar sector, Pune stands out as the third-highest paying city with an average monthly salary of ₹15,480, surpassing Mumbai (₹14,875), Chennai (₹14,797), and Kolkata (₹14,039). Bengaluru and New Delhi lead this category, offering ₹16,498 and ₹15,549 respectively.

Pune’s consistent performance highlights its growing importance in India’s employment landscape. The city’s thriving IT sector, along with its expanding industrial base, contributes significantly to its reputation as a city offering competitive salaries across various job sectors.
