Pune: Businessman Praful Lodha, already embroiled in serious criminal cases in Mumbai, has now been booked in a fresh rape case in Pune. The complaint, filed at Bavdhan Police Station, further deepens Lodha’s legal troubles.

Currently in the custody of Mumbai Police, Lodha is expected to be handed over to Pune authorities for investigation into the latest allegations, said Anil Vibhute, senior police Inspector, Bavdhan Police station.

As per police reports, Lodha is accused of exploiting a minor and using threats as part of a larger honeytrap operation. Previously, two cases had been registered against the 62-year-old at Mumbai’s Andheri MIDC and Sakinaka police stations. He allegedly lured a 16-year-old girl and her friend with fake job offers, took explicit photos of them, confined them, and issued threats to keep them silent.

Mumbai Police are also investigating his properties in Jamner and Pahur (Jalgaon district), seizing laptops, pen drives, and other electronic devices for forensic analysis.
