Pune: Residents Call For Urgent Repairs As Nyati Estate To Handewadi Road Poses Safety ConcernsÂ
Residents along the Nyati Estate Road stretch to Shauryawada in Pune are facing escalating concerns over road safety amidst the onset of monsoon. The deteriorating road conditions have significantly increased the risk of accidents, prompting urgent calls for repairs from the local community.
Alok Tiwari, a resident of Handewadi, highlighted the worsening situation, emphasizing that repeated complaints to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have yet to yield any action. He noted the recent incident where a nearby small-scale industry caught fire, further complicating access and safety for citizens in the area.
Responding to these concerns, Anil Sonawane, executive engineer of the road department at PMC, assured that immediate steps would be taken to address the road’s condition and initiate repair work without delay.
The Nyati Estate Road has been a vital artery for commuters and residents alike, linking several important localities in Pune. However, the neglect of maintenance has made it increasingly hazardous, particularly during the current monsoon season. The lack of timely repairs not only poses risks to commuters but also impacts businesses and residents who rely on the road for daily activities.
Local residents are hopeful that the assurance from PMC marks the beginning of concrete action to improve the road conditions and ensure the safety of all users. They urge authorities to expedite the repair work to prevent any further incidents and inconvenience.
As the monsoon progresses, the urgency for repairs grows, underlining the need for swift and effective measures by the municipal authorities to address this critical issue affecting the Nyati Estate Road and its adjoining areas.
