Pune, August 24, 2025: For the past 15 years, the residents of Bakori Road have been enduring daily struggles due to its poor condition. Despite having over 1,000 flats and a population of nearly 3,000 residents, the road remains just 9 feet wide and riddled with dangerous potholes.

The residents allege that builders have sold flats worth over ₹600 crore, and homebuyers have collectively paid more than ₹50 crore in stamp duty. Yet, the road infrastructure remains neglected, putting the safety of children, senior citizens, and commuters at constant risk.

“This daily commute has become a hazardous task. No amount of compensation can cover 15 years of suffering. But now, the road must be built – no matter what it takes,” said a resident.

Highlighting the urgency of the issue, the community stressed that they can no longer wait. They are calling for all families to unite, raise their voices, and ensure that this long-pending development is completed in their lifetime.

In a strong show of determination, Team WACO (Team Wagholi Against Corruption) organised a demonstration at the site, demanding immediate resolution to the long-standing road problem. Residents believe their unity is the key to finally achieving a safe and functional road for their community.
