Pimpri, December 6, 2024 – A retired police sub-inspector was allegedly defrauded of ₹2 lakh under the pretext of a pilgrimage to Nepal, Kashi, and Ayodhya. The incident, which took place in Moshi, has come to light following a police complaint.

Bheekan Eknath Dusane (69), a retired government official filed a complaint at MIDC Bhosari police station against Mahesh Barsu Phalak. According to Dusane, Phalak offered to arrange a pilgrimage to the holy destinations, convincing him and his relatives to pay ₹2,02,500 for the trip.

Phalak assured Dusane that if the journey was canceled 20 days prior, the tickets would be refunded, and the full amount returned. However, he failed to book the train tickets and did not refund the money, thereby defrauding Dusane.
