Pune, 7 October 2025 — The Bhusari–Bavdhan area has witnessed a sudden increase in cases of loose motions, vomiting, and nausea, raising health concerns among local residents. Over the past two days, more than 50 patients have sought treatment at the PMC-run clinic with similar symptoms.
Social activist and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) city Vice President Adv. Krunnal Gharre raised the issue and met the medical representative to review the situation and medical assessment. The attending doctor confirmed the rise in such cases, with reports coming in from both Bhusari and Bavdhan localities.

Similar issue was raised by Prashant Kanojia, of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena from Kothrud. He said the citizens reported that the water quality has gone bad and also the taste. Many have fallen ill in the past few days. PMC must take cognisance of the issue and resolve it. 

Complaints have come up from Right and Left Bhusari colony, Saudamini, Indira Shankar Nagari, Ved Vihar, Bharti Nagar, Paud road and we have been asking people to boil water and then consume it. Also immediately consulting doctors is a must if you see any irregular symptoms, Kanojia added.

Following the alert, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has initiated an urgent investigation and assured necessary action on war footing. PMC is collecting and testing water samples from various points in the area to identify possible contamination sources.

Health officials are maintaining strict monitoring, it is requested to consult a doctor if symptoms persist.
