Pune RTO Launches Online And Faceless Service For Booking Fancy Vehicle Registration Numbers
Pune, September 30, 2025: The Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune, has introduced a fully online and faceless service for reserving preferred or attractive registration numbers for new vehicles. This service has been operational since November 25, 2024, eliminating the need for applicants to visit the office in person.
For the new series MH 12 YR, the facility to book preferred registration numbers will commence on October 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM. No offline payments will be accepted at the RTO office.
Applicants need to register on https://fancy.parivahan.gov.in, log in using OTP, select the desired registration number, and pay the fees online via the SBI e-pay gateway. After payment, an e-receipt must be printed and submitted to the vehicle dealer.
This service is available for privately-owned vehicles only. For other types of vehicles, such as those registered under companies or firms, preferred registration numbers will continue to be issued through the RTO office.
The announcement was made via a press release by the Deputy Regional Transport Officer, Pune.
