Pune Rural Police Launch ‘WhatsApp Daksh’ Initiative To Report Illegal Activities
The Pune Rural Police has consistently received support from responsible and alert citizens in matters of law and order, especially during times of social, political, or religious tensions. To ensure that citizens can continue to lead peaceful and orderly lives, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh has launched a new initiative—WhatsApp Daksh System.
Recognizing the role of mobile phones and social media in daily life, this initiative enables citizens to report illegal businesses easily via WhatsApp. Many aware citizens wish to report such activities but hesitate or are unable to visit police stations. To bridge this gap, the WhatsApp number 9922892100 has been launched.
Citizens can save this number, send a message starting with “Hi,” and begin interacting with the automated chatbot. The system operates in Marathi and is user-friendly. Citizens can submit details such as the name of the illegal activity, photos, location, and the name of the accused anonymously. The information will be routed to the concerned police station and division.
The Pune Rural Police urges all citizens to actively use this system and help eliminate illegal businesses in their areas.
