Pune, July 19, 2025: Unidentified intruders broke into actress and former model Sangeeta Bijlani’s farmhouse near Pavana Dam in Lonavla on July 18, ransacking the property and fleeing with valuables. The miscreants also destroyed all CCTV cameras installed on the premises, indicating a targeted and premeditated act, Pune Rural police said.

According to officials, the break-in was discovered when Bijlani, who resides in Mumbai, visited the farmhouse around 11:30 am on Friday with two domestic staff members. The main entrance had been forcibly broken open. Further inspection revealed extensive damage, including broken window grills, theft of a television set, severe damage to another, and widespread destruction of furniture and household items. Smoke damage was reported on the upper floor, while beds, the refrigerator, and other major appliances were found vandalised.

Bijlani, who had not visited the property for four months due to her father’s illness, lodged a written complaint at the Pune Rural Police Station. She has requested immediate police intervention, a site inspection, forensic analysis, and registration of an FIR under charges of housebreaking, theft, and criminal trespass.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sandeep Gill confirmed that a police team has been deployed to assess the site. “An FIR will be registered after completing the panchnama at the farmhouse,” said Lonavla Rural Police Station in-charge Dinesh Tayde.

Mohammed Mujeeb Khan, a close associate of Bijlani and co-complainant, added, “Pune Rural SP Sandeep Gill and his team have assured us full assistance during this time of crisis.”
