Pune, July 18, 2025: After a short spell of rain earlier this week, Pune has experienced a lull in monsoon activity over the past two days, leading to a noticeable spike in daytime temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that this warm phase will persist for a few more days, with chances of light rain in isolated areas.

On Thursday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of 22.5°C. Localised readings showed slightly higher temperatures in certain pockets, such as Magarpatta, where the mercury touched 32°C. Lohgaon and Pashan too hovered around 31°C, adding to the heat and humidity levels across the city.

Monsoon activity has weakened over Pune, causing a temporary rise in temperatures. The forecast indicates partly cloudy skies and a possibility of very light rain over the next five days, but no major change in weather patterns is anticipated.

For Friday, the maximum temperature is expected to ease slightly to 30°C, with the minimum rising marginally to 23°C. Similar weather is predicted for Saturday, with cloudy skies and isolated drizzles providing occasional relief.

The IMD has urged residents to stay hydrated and take precautions as humidity remains high despite overcast conditions. While heavy showers are unlikely in the immediate term, light rain may bring brief respite from the heat.
