Pune Sees Surge In Festive Vehicle Sales, Over 21,000 Sold Since Dussehra
PUNE: As the Diwali season continues, Pune has recorded a significant spike in vehicle sales, with a total of 21,247 sold since Dussehra, according to the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO). This year’s sales surpass the same period in 2023, showing a strong demand for vehicles in the city.
Of the vehicles sold, two-wheelers make up the majority, with 14,526 units registered between October 12 and October 29. In comparison, the previous year saw 20,083 vehicles sold during this timeframe.
While overall vehicle sales are up, electric vehicle (EV) purchases have declined for the third consecutive year. This year, only 658 electric vehicles have been sold compared to 1,702 in 2023 and 1,929 in 2022.
The Pune RTO has ramped up efforts to expedite registration processes to ensure timely delivery, allowing buyers to bring home their vehicles at auspicious times during the Diwali festivities.
