Pune: Set Up Vishakha Committee In Offices With 10 Or More Employees, Urges Govt
Pune | May 29, 2025: All government and private establishments employing 10 or more individuals are legally required to form an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), also known as a Vishakha Committee, under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Failure to comply may lead to a penalty of up to ₹50,000 and can even result in the cancellation of the organization’s registration certificate or license.
Additionally, all private establishments must register their Internal Committees on the Government of India’s official SHE-Box portal: https://shebox.wcd.gov.in/registerOffices.
District Women and Child Development Officer Manisha Biraris has appealed to all government and private offices in the district to send a copy of their ICC formation order to [email protected].
She also stressed the mandatory registration of these committees by private establishments on the SHE-Box website to ensure legal compliance and protection for women at workplaces.
