Pune Shocker: Woman Dragged To Balcony, Nearly Pushed Off By Husband; Entire Family Absconds. Know What Happened In Vadgaon Sheri Â
Pune, June 29, 2025: In a disturbing case of domestic violence and attempted murder, a 24-year-old woman from Silicon Bay Society in Vadgaon Sheri narrowly escaped death after her husband allegedly tried to push her off the balcony during a heated argument. The incident occurred on the night of June 25, and all six accused family members, including the husband, are currently absconding, police said.
The Chandan Nagar Police have registered a case of attempted murder against the husband and five others all residents of Wadgaon Sheri and Kalyani Nagar.
Abuse Despite ₹50 Lakh Dowry Support
The victim was married in a grand ceremony in April 2023, during which her father reportedly spent ₹25 lakh on cash, jewelry, and household items. However, the situation deteriorated within months, with her facing both physical and mental abuse. Despite an additional ₹50 lakh in financial help extended to the in-laws by her family, the torture continued.
Brutal Assault and Attempt to Kill
On May 27, 2025, the accused husband allegedly tried to strangle her. On June 25 around 11:30 PM, a trivial argument over ordering food escalated into violence. He reportedly banged her head against a cupboard, pulled her hair, smashed her phone, and dragged her toward the balcony, attempting to push her off.
Her life was saved when neighbors and the society watchman heard her screams and intervened. The watchman immediately called her father, who arrived past midnight and took her home.
Police Investigation Underway
The Police Inspector is overseeing the case. Three special teams have been formed to track down the absconding accused. Statements from the society watchman and residents are being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.
