Pune: In a shocking incident on Tilak Road, a speeding car lost control and crashed through a shop’s iron shutter late Saturday night. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Police detained four minors involved in the incident after local residents apprehended them while they were attempting to flee.
According to officials, the minors were driving their friend’s car at high speed. After dining at a restaurant in the Deccan Gymkhana area, they were heading toward Swargate via Tilak Road. Near Sāhitya Parishad Chowk, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which mounted the pavement and smashed into a shop’s iron shutter, causing significant damage.
The loud crash woke up nearby residents, who immediately rushed to the scene. The panicked minors reportedly contacted a crane operator to move the car but were intercepted by locals. Police from the Vishrambaug station arrived promptly and took the minors into custody.
No injuries were reported in the accident, and the incident has been noted by the police for further investigation. Residents have raised concerns about the dangers of reckless driving and emphasized the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents.
