Pune: The deadline for the SPPU Museum of Cartoon Art Anniversary Competition is fast approaching, with participants required to submit their entries by March 15, 2025. Indian cartoonists and illustrators taking part in the competition are reminded to ensure their submissions meet the specified guidelines.

As per the competition poster, the theme is “Scene in My City”, requiring participants to depict an actual, characteristic scene from their city rather than relying on memory. Artists can create their entries by sketching on-site or using a reference photograph to render the scene in their chosen style and platform.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Hand-Drawn Entries: Artists may sketch on A3-sized paper, scan their work as per specifications, and submit a soft copy.
  • Digital Creations: Entries can be drawn entirely using digital drawing software with a stylus or finger on a graphic tablet, with a soft copy submission as per specifications.
  • Hybrid Entries: Participants may hand-draw their work on paper, scan it, and then refine it digitally. The final image must be submitted as a soft copy per the given specifications.

Participants are discouraged from merely manipulating photographs without demonstrating hand-drawing skills. Additionally, all reference materials used in creating the artwork must be submitted along with the final entry.

Participants are urged to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a smooth submission process.
