Pune, Maharashtra – Pune-based agritech startup Canebot, founded by Kirty and Milind Datar, has secured seed investment from Ajinkya Rahane and Associates. This investment is enabled by Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA).

Canebot develops robotic vending machines that dispense fresh sugarcane juice, helping farmers reduce post-harvest losses while offering hygienic beverages to urban consumers.

This funding comes through a strategic partnership launched last year between celebrated Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane and MCCIA to support agritech ventures that strengthen Maharashtra’s agricultural sector.

“Impact drives our investment decisions. We back ventures that meaningfully improve farmers’ lives,” said Ajinkya Rahane. “Our collaboration with MCCIA helps identify promising agri-entrepreneurs like Canebot. This seed investment will accelerate their mission to bring innovation to both farmers and consumers.”

“This is just the beginning,” said Prashant Girbane, Director General, MCCIA. “Through this initiative, several more agritech startups will benefit from early-stage funding and strategic support. Our aim is to foster scalable, tech-enabled agricultural solutions that can uplift rural livelihoods and make Maharashtra a leader in agritech innovation.”
