The strike initiated by contract drivers employed by a private bus contractor, which impacted electric and CNG buses operating at Kothrud, Pune station, and Wagholi depot, has been officially terminated. The contract drivers at Kothrud depot concluded their strike on Saturday.

As confirmed by PMPML (Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited), the strike was resolved at Kothrud depot on August 26, 2023, while the contract drivers at Pune Station and Wagholi depot ceased their strike on August 27, 2023.

Recognizing that the private bus contractor drivers’ strike did not disrupt PMPML’s bus services, the PMPML administration enlisted drivers from the corporation to operate private buses, ensuring minimal inconvenience to passengers.

To mitigate any potential inconvenience caused by the sudden strike of the private bus contractor’s drivers for Pune residents, extensive efforts were made to adjust the regular schedules of PMPML, including canceling the weekly holidays of officers, office staff, carriers, and drivers.
