Baramati MP Supriya Sule has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging the state government to establish an independent administrative body to address growing civic issues in Hinjawadi and surrounding areas. In her letter dated July 4, 2025, Sule highlighted that the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Hinjawadi is a globally recognized hub, and world-class infrastructure is critical to sustain its growth.

Residents in Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji, and adjoining areas face daily challenges such as traffic congestion, poor road conditions, waterlogging, irregular power supply, and inadequate civic amenities.

Sule pointed out that citizens often have to approach multiple agencies including MIDC, PMC, PMRDA, MahaMetro, MSEDCL, the Public Works Department, and the police to resolve these issues. The lack of coordination between these departments leads to unnecessary delays and causes distress to residents, she added.

To address this, Sule proposed the creation of a dedicated administrative authority, either as a Special City Development Authority or an Industrial Township Administration Authority, for the Hinjawadi-Maan-Marunji cluster and fast-developing areas like Jambe, Gahunje, Nande, Lavale, Pirangut, Bhukum, and nearby regions. This autonomous body would ensure integrated planning, streamlined funding, and efficient service delivery.

Until such a body is set up, Sule requested the appointment of a competent nodal officer to coordinate between government agencies and provide a single point of contact for citizens to raise and resolve grievances effectively.
